Carrie Canine, LMFT

Carrie is a licensed marriage and family therapist with five years’ experience in suicide intervention and prevention. She brings training and expertise gained by working in various crisis support roles, including the Mobile Support Team and the Crisis Stabilization Unit. Project Lifeline clinicians uses CBT to identify, and disrupt, unhelpful thinking patterns. DBT is also used to increase distress tolerance and improve emotional regulation skills. Clients will benefit from positive psychology’s focus on strengths and values which assists in treatment planning. Carrie is a supportive, non-judgmental collaborator who partners with clients to identify behaviors that may perpetuate suffering. Poor self-esteem and self-sabotage often are the biggest blockers to progress. The overall focus of the program is to increase coping skills and build resilience. Carrie has a BS, Finance from San Francisco State University, and a MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
